Fall Festival - Oct 31. This year we are taking our fall festival out of the basement and into the community! On Halloween, we will be doing some games, prizes, hot beverages and a popcorn machine in Scottville as the hundreds of kids trick or treat. This will be a community outreach as well as a ton of fun! Please consider helping with set up, hot chocolate, apple cider and especially with clean up the next day...Nov 1st. We are going to volunteer that morning to go back through and make sure it is all cleaned up!
On Sunday, November 10, during the 11 a.m. worship service, May Memorial will honor all of our Veterans.
We will have a speaker from Lonesome Dove Equestrian Center. This center provides therapeutic rides for Veterans.
Please join us!
Please Join the churches in the community of Powhatan for a Thanksgiving Service.
This will be held at Mount Zion Baptist Church at 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday Night Study at May Memorial
Not since C.S. Lewis’s Mere Christianity has such a wise and informed leader taken the time to explain what Christianity is and how it is practiced. In Simply Christian, renowned biblical scholar N.T. Wright makes a case for Christianity from the ground up. Walking the participants through the Christian faith step-by-step and question by question, Wright’s Simply Christian offers explanations for even the toughest doubt-filled skeptics, leaving believers with a reason for renewed faith.
I pray you and your children have enjoyed your summer but honestly I have missed them SO MUCH!! I am so excited to get back to Kingdom Kids! We will operate much like last year with your children getting off the bus at MMBC. (please let me know if your child will need a ride as their school doesn't drop off here and I will do my best to get a carpool going)
Kingdom Kids is open to children from K-5th. Our main purpose is to teach about the love of Jesus...and we do that through Bible lessons, crafts, games and even snacks.
We ask for you to pick up your child at 5:00 pm but consider staying for dinner at 5:45! Each Wednesday night, MMBC has an amazing, usually home-cooked meal that is followed by an adult Bible Study. If you would like to attend the weekly study, but need childcare, please let us know!
This year, Kingdom Kids will be covering Bible stories in a chronological nature going from Genesis to the first church. Each session will have Bible-learning activities that will help children apply the biblical concepts to their lives.
It is going to be an amazing year...learning about God, His Son, and all of the ways we can live a life that is pleasing to Him!

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us”
